Participation Opportunities & Groups

 

Our congregation is a diverse, active, and caring community.  In addition to Sunday services, many opportunities exist to become involved in First Church activities.   Congregation members are encouraged to share in the life of the church through time, talent, and financial support according to ability.

Adult study and discussion groups
Varied topics are announced throughout the year.

Church Music and Choir
Practices and sings on alternate weeks. Opportunities for instrumentalists, too.

Sunday Morning
Coffee Hour

Hosts provide light fare for after-church socializing.

Grounds clean-up and care
Volunteers form a work party the third Saturday morning of every month.

History Committee

A Newcomers' Breakfast is held several times throughout the year to acquaint recent visitors who have added their names to the mailing list.

Wednesday Night
Prayer Group

Special worship services
Christmas Eve, Passover Seder, Blessing of the Animals.

Spring Yard Sale and Barbecue
Volunteers sort and price, plan publicity, cook and sell.

Webmastering
Update monthly events calendar and be as creative as your time -- and the Standing Committee -- allows.

Wednesday night after Prayer Group (Next session 1/7/04-1/28/04)
Adult Bible Study Group

for skeptics, seekers and religious liberals..
