— Social Justice Committee

The purpose of the Social Justice Committee is to assist First Church members and friends in taking action toward creating a more livable community for all of us. The committee has had two primary goals: to address hunger and to work toward resolving homelessness. Another important objective is to support the First Church congregation's membership in the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization and to support the GBIO delegates chosen to represent the congregation at GBIO meetings.

The Social Justice Committee is an open committee. Potential new committee members or First Church members who want to see what we are doing are welcomed, as are congregational visitors with ideas for the letter writing table or someone just dropping by with a question or a comment. Meetings are held once a month on Sundays at 12:30 pm. Marshall Hawkins is chairperson of the Social Justice Committee and can be reached at mhawkins@gis.net
