Tonight: Adult RE – Croning

CHURCH HAPPENINGS

*** Sunday, Feb. 12th***

Newcomers’ Breakfast – 9:30 a.m.
All are welcome to join us in the Dining Room on February 12th for a Newcomers’ Breakfast. Longtime church members, first-time visitors, and everyone in between are warmly invited to attend. Share a yummy morning meal with us as we build community and get to know each other a little better. Please RSVP to Paul Miller. Longtime members, let him know if you can bring a dish to the potluck breakfast.

Sunday’s guest preacher is Kye Flannery, a seminarian at Harvard Divinity School. She lives in Dorchester with a cat who may be a deity. She describes herself as a “psychology geek” who loves to read old books by Carl Rogers and Rollo May. She also loves cooking and is always looking for good bread recipes.

Rev. Terry Burke, Nancy Nee Hanifin, and Jen Roy will be sharing their experiences walking the Camino pilgrimage at a J.P. Forum event at our church on Friday, February 3rd at 7PM.  Join us for “Buon Camino!  Pilgrimage in the Modern World.”

Our guest preacher on Sunday is Rev. Clyde Grubbs, who serves as the minister-at-large of the Tuckerman Creative Ministries for Justice and Healing. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

*** Sunday, Jan. 15th***
Join us for Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday. Rev. Burke is speaking about Civil Rights leader Bayard Rustin.

Rustin convinced Dr. King to follow a path of non-violence, helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Council that supported King’s work, and was the chief architect of the 1963 March on Washington. He was also was head of the peace groups Fellowship of Reconciliation and the War Resistors’ League. As a gay Black man, his important contributions have not been properly appreciated.

At the end of the service we will also have an optional rite of racial reconciliation and healing using Jamaica Pond water.

Join us on Sunday! Rev. Marshall Hawkins, our affiliate minister, will deliver a sermon titled “Whose Are You?” and Tim Williamson, our guest soloist, will be featured.

UU 101 Talk
The Rev. Terry Burke will reveal everything you wanted to know about UUism – he might even tell the Lamborghini Joke! Please come on Sunday November 13th at 9:30 AM for a UU 101 talk. Light snacks and welcoming people will be present.
