This Sunday’s Labor Day Weekend service at 11 am will feature the sermon topic “What Work Is.” The title is drawn by the poem of that name by Poet Laureate
Philip Levine. First Church member and poet Alice Kociemba and our minister, Rev. Terry Burke, will both speak for the sermon, drawing upon their early work experiences.

Terry promises to describe his spiritual learning from having served as a deputy dog warden, elevator operator, scallop opener, bartender, and undocumented office cleaner. The music will be led by our Music Director, Ellen McGuire.

This will be the last of our summer services before we resume services in our sanctuary.
