WHO WE ARE
Our Church’s Mission and Vision
Adopted by the congregation on December 4, 2011:
Mission: We are an open and caring congregation. We nurture spiritual growth through worship, education, social justice, and service to others.
Vision: Our congregation is a source of sanctuary and inspiration. We embrace creativity, inclusiveness, and spiritual exploration. We share humane values and we work together to create a better world.
We covenant to affirm and promote the seven principles of Unitarian Universalist and understand that our faith draws on the six sources of Unitarian Universalism.
These principles lead us to value:
The inherent worth and dignity of immigrants, Muslims, people of color, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer people.
The right of every citizen to vote and of all people to access health care and reproductive rights.
Initiatives to address the threat of climate change and to protect the interdependent web of all existence.
We are a member of the JP/West Roxbury Sanctuary Coalition, supporting a guest taking sanctuary at Bethel AME.
We proclaim that Black Lives Matter.
We side with the most vulnerable among us, and oppose any and all unjust government actions to deport, register, discriminate, or despoil.
